You should bring a hat, sunscreen and sturdy footwear suitable for walking. Most people also bring a camera. We strongly recommend you bring a warm waterproof jacket at any time of year.

Whether you are very fit or needing to get fit you will enjoy the activity levels on our tours due to the variety of outdoor options available. On the same day tour to Wilsons Promontory you have the option of a good workout by climbing to the top of a mountain, a medium workout along the coast to a gentle stroll around the boardwalk areas at Tidal River.

Is lunch provided on the tour?

On our Wilsons Promontory day tour you will be provided with a delicious morning tea, a delicious picnic lunch and an afternoon light snack.

On our Wilsons Promontory shuttle you will be provided with a light lunch of sandwiches.

On our Penguins Walks & Wildlife in the Wild tour we provide gourmet lunch either in a picnic style if the weather suits or at a great cafe overlooking the ocean.

If you are booking one of our private tours we tailor make the tour to your needs so you can choose to have meals included or if you prefer the flexibility of being able to choose where and when you eat on the day, and we can arrange that as well.

When is the best time of year to visit?

This is a hard question to answer as each time of year brings something different. From November through to April the weather is much warmer and suitable for swimming at some of the beautiful beaches and estuaries. Through the cooler months from May to September we tend to see more wildlife during the day, and the crisp clear air and fragrance of the forest plants make for a very pleasant walking experience. Our autumn months March through to May are sublime with pleasant temperatures, good opportunities to see wildlife and excellent light for taking photos, while September to November is our spring so the wildflowers are out on display.

What is the climate like?

Our summer time can be quite hot from December through to end of February with temperatures varying but usually averaging around 26 degrees Celcius during the day and dropping during the evenings to a nice and cool 14 degrees Celcius.

During winter from June through to end of August we typically see a lot more rain and the temperatures hover around 10 to 14 degrees celcius during the day. Winter is a very pleasant time for walking around the coastal areas.

The autumn months from March to end of may are splendid with beautiful comfortable temperatures and usually great weather. Spring from September to November is very pleasant although we are still seeing frequent rainfalls keeping everything green and beautiful till Christmas.
